Description
Pokémon Enduring Emerald is a hack that replaces the Hoenn Pokémon in the wild and in trainer battles with most of the Pokémon from Kanto and some from Johto. The regional Pokédex now includes 175 Pokémon, all of which, except for the starters, should be catchable. You can choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as your starter Pokémon. Instead of using your starter to save Professor Birch from a Zigzagoon, you’ll be saving him from a Nidoran.
This hack aims to blend elements of Emerald’s past with aspects of its future to create a new experience that still feels familiar to fans of the Gen 3 games. I used Pret’s pokeemerald decomp as a base and have thoroughly tested the game with my additions in multiple emulators to ensure there are no major bugs.
Note: This isn’t intended to be a difficulty hack, but the bosses will be slightly tougher to balance the easier XP gain. The Pokémon in the first four gyms will be one level higher than before, while those in the last four gyms, the Elite Four, and the Champion will be two levels higher. Despite these adjustments, you shouldn’t encounter any Pokémon above level 60 before the postgame.

- Any Pokémon can use a field move as long as the corresponding HM is in your bag.
- The Exp. Share is now a key item that gives experience points to all Pokémon in your party and can be toggled on or off.
- Your Pokémon gain experience points per catch.
