Story
Pokemon Altair and Sirius – Three years ago, shortly after Champion Brendan’s crowning and subsequent retirement, Hoenn was hit by a meteor shower. The Hoenn Catastrophe drastically altered the terrain of Hoenn, changing much of the southern end into a barren wasteland and destroying the Battle Frontier, among other things. This had a huge influence on animals, leading to the extinction of many species. Surprisingly, new Meteoric Pokémon species began to appear all over the place. Three highly powerful and wicked Pokemon stood out…
Professor Birch assigns you to complete the Pokédex in order to document all of the new species when you arrive in Littleroot Town. April (or Gordon), Birch’s niece (or nephew), and Billy, the younger brother of the current League Champion, Wally, are introduced to you. Romero, the Petalburg Gym Leader, also has a younger brother who frequently crosses your way. Mosmero is his name, and he’s an oddball. Despite his age, he tours the region playing various pranks.
(Because the game’s progression mostly follows Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, many details will be omitted for brevity.)
