I have no idea how to describe the main plot and storyline since many events are essentially the same form HGSS/GSC, so we can at least assume the plot may remain the same (Tbh is not the same, but at least you may get a surprise by playing the game.

Description

The renowned Professor Elm has found himself deeply engrossed in a multitude of groundbreaking discoveries lately, one of which revolves around the intriguing legend of mystical stones that possess the ability to elevate a Pokémon to unprecedented heights. In light of these developments, he has entrusted the crucial task of investigating and harnessing the power of these enigmatic stones to two of his adept assistants, namely Ethan/Kris and [Player]. In order to facilitate their mission, Professor Elm has thoughtfully provided each of them with a Pokémon companion to aid in this endeavor. The tale begins when [Player] is dispatched to retrieve a package from the enigmatic Mr. Pokémon, setting in motion a series of events that will forever alter their journey.

In a sudden twist of fate, a mysterious red-haired individual brazenly intrudes upon Professor Elm’s laboratory and absconds with one of the precious Pokémon. Left bewildered and concerned, it falls to Ethan/Kris and [Player] to unravel the mystery behind this audacious theft. Armed with the invaluable tool of a Pokédex, thoughtfully provided by the venerable Professor Oak, they embark on an epic adventure across the picturesque Johto region. Their overarching quest is twofold: to complete the Pokédex by documenting the diverse species of Pokémon inhabiting Johto and to unearth the identity of the audacious red-haired youth responsible for the theft. The journey ahead is laden with challenges, discoveries, and the promise of uncovering the truth behind this perplexing incident.

Progress

In this beta you can earn 8 badges and challenge the Pokémon league. You can also rematch the Johto Gym Leaders once you beat the Pokémon League.
